Wendy New has hit the local and international music scene with a
sound all her own. Born in South Africa, Wendy New was resident in
New York City for many years. She has been playing guitar and
writing songs since she was 8 years old.
She has
appeared at music venues all over the world and has been a regular
feature at music festivals. She has collaborated with New York duo
310 and has had songs of hers feature on film and TV soundtracks. She has released her
album Dissolve in the Sun and has returned to her
hometown Johannesburg where she continues to play and write and
sing and dance and so on. Her songs are a unique synthesis of pop,
African/world, blues and folk/rock genres - lyric images span the
globe with unforgettable melodies and kickarse grooves.
